Other Changes
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period A:
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using '1 Def Pure' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Wyrmscraig
Wyrmscraig is a brand-new island, made with community member Gnome... Or, RoseNMcGeet as he also likes to be called. You may also know him as ScreteMonge, the man has three names!
You may know of Gnome through his work on RuneLite's creator toolkit plug-in, or some of his collaboration with some popular community suggestions floating around on our subreddit!
It's been a pleasure to work with Gnome on his fantastic concept and bring to life in-game. A huge thanks to Gnome is deserved, as well as you, our wonderful community, for your feedback and thoughts throughout the process of development.
To every single of you who entered the Player-Designed Island competition when we ran it back in December: thank you. Thousands of you poured your passion (and a few memes) into your entries. Whilst we couldn't pick multiple entries for this project, your ideas have given the team many new avenues for future exploration. Seeing what kinds of ideas you are interested in is a fantastic tool for developers like us, and helps us understand what kind of content you're interested in next.
Wyrmscraig is proof of what happens when player creativity meets the sandbox that is Old School RuneScape. We are so excited to see what you think, and how our community will continue to shape future content, inspiring us, and uplifting us with all of your suggestions and ideas.
So, what are you waiting for? To get started with this content, you'll need 62 Sailing.
While you can start exploring the island right away, and even participate in some of the activities (like Goat Hunting), you might want to get started by completing Fallen From Grace.
Fallen From Grace
Fallen from Grace is an Experienced, Short length quest.
Your adventure will begin in the village of Auchrie, where a disappearance has left the locals fearful and suspicious of outsiders. With one of their own still missing, they'll reluctantly turn to you for help.
As you explore the island, you'll uncover ancient secrets, investigate the mystery of the Mad Angel, and discover the truth behind the disappearances haunting the island.
Requirements
To start the quest you'll need 62 Sailing, 60 Crafting, 47 Runecraft, and 53 Mining. Just speak to Cormac, located in the middle of the Auchrie village.
Rewards
Repeatable Mad Angel Boss
Once you've completed Fallen From Grace, you'll be able to return to the Cathedral and challenge the repeatable version of the boss you first encountered during the quest.
Designed as a mid-level PvM encounter, it's a great next step for players who have already earned their Fire Cape and are looking to take on a rewarding new challenge.
During development, it was our intention to ensure that the quest version of the boss was identical to the repeatable version. However, when it came to playtesting, we made some tweaks to tone her down a little for the quest. This is because we want to ensure that the fight matches the difficulty of other quests in the same tier.
Unique Reward: Hallowfell
Defeating the boss gives you the chance to earn a range of unique rewards, including Hallowfell, a powerful two-handed sword that requires 75 Attack to wield.
Every swing cleaves through nearby enemies, hitting up to two additional targets. Against three monsters it actually outperforms every other melee weapon currently available, making it a very juicy upgrade for all different types of accounts.
The repeatable boss also drops the following:
New Slayer Master: Mortimer
Mortimer is a new, high-level Slayer Master built around player choice.
From a design perspective, our main goal is to offer a unique twist on Slayer with his modifiers, and to provide a different experience by boosting some typically less desirable tasks. Unlocking him should be a meaningful boost over existing methods.
Instead of assigning you a single Slayer task, Mortimer gives you a choice between two assignments. As you prove yourself by completing tasks for him, you'll eventually unlock a third choice, giving you even greater flexibility when deciding what to tackle next.
You unlock Mortimer with 100 Combat and 70 Slayer, or 99 Slayer, regardless of your Combat level.
We've covered Mortimer in our recent blog, but here's the TLDR:
Mortifiers
Based on feedback last week, we've reduced the required tasks required to unlock modifiers by around half.
Here are the new tasks required to unlock each Mortifier:
| Unlock | Tasks Completed |
|---|---|
| Points Mortifier | 0 |
| Quantity Mortifier | 0 |
| Clue Mortifier | 15 |
| Superior unique drop Mortifier | 25 |
| XP Mortifier | 40 |
| Triple task selection | 50 |
You’ll now unlock more interesting tasks much earlier in your journey, and we'll be keeping a watchful eye on community feedback over the coming days and weeks.
Let us know how these tasks feel in practice, and we'll be ready to make further adjustments if needed!
Partner Slayer
We've had a few questions pop up about Mortimer and Partner Slayer.
When choosing a task, your available options will be determined independently of your partner's unlocks and requirements. This means your partner cannot reduce or alter your task pool.
If you select a task that your partner doesn't meet the Slayer level or quest requirements for, you'll still receive the assignment as normal.
Additionally, your partner cannot be assigned your task if they have a task choice pending with Mortimer.
NPC Contact
While working on Mortimer, we realised this would be a good opportunity to address the fact that 'NPC Contact' sounded a bit too fourth-wall-y. We've now renamed it to Astral Contact to give it an immersive and lore accurate name, much like other spells have.
Goat Hunting
Goat Hunting is a brand-new Hunter training activity found on Wyrmscraig. You'll herd the island's concerning goat population into a deadly pit!
This activity offers an active and engaging alternative to Red and Black Salamanders at 60 - 80 Hunter.
Requirements
To access Goat Hunting, you'll need:
Gameplay
Rewards
The focus of this activity is primarily on Hunter XP, which should sit between Red and Black Salamanders. However, drops include Goat Horns (useful for Combat Potions) and Goat Fur (to be used within Golem Crafting if desired).
The activity also drops a pet, Mr McGroot.
For those of you curious about drop rates, hang on in there. We'll reveal the details on drop rates roughly 2 weeks from now!
Sunstone Mining & Golem Crafting
Once you have completed Fallen From Grace, you'll learn about Golem Crafting, a new Crafting training method. This is intended to be a viable alternative to Glassblowing, especially at higher levels.
To access Sunstone Golem Crafting, you'll need:
During this activity, you will mine an inventory of Sunstone, sculpt Golems and clothe them with furs from Hunter. Remember, this activity requires Hunter Furs, so bring them along with you, along with your Chisel and Hammer.
As a reminder, the shop stock for Moonlight Antelope Fur has been reduced to 0. You can still trade Furs with other players, it's just not buyable in shops anymore.
Golem Crafting can be a relaxed, or higher intensity training method depending on your preferred playstyle.
Gameplay
The gameplay loop is very simple and similar to Vale Totems, if you're familiar with this activity from Varlamore.
Sunstone Mining
You'll find sunstone rocks on Wyrmscraig. You can click them, mine them, get the resource, and then it depletes. You need 53 Mining for Sunstone.
Momentum is a brand-new mechanic for mining Sunstone. This is a static bonus earned by continuously mining. As your momentum builds, you'll mine more efficiently, getting additional Sunstone ore, and bonus Mining XP. Losing your Momentum resets the benefits, which should encourage active mining for those who want to play more efficiently. At 80 Mining, you'll see guaranteed success from the momentum mechanic.
It's worth mentioning that during this activity, you benefit from any upgrades that enhance Mining, such as Expert Mining Gloves.
For a more relaxed approach, you can click on the nearby Sunstone Monolith to gather Sunstone instead. This will be slower, but more AFK!
Golem Crafting
Head over to the Golem Crafting stations nearby with your Sunstone, Chisel, Hammer and Fur.
Rewards
Jeweller's Chisel
You can earn the Jeweller's Chisel from Golem Crafting. It offers the following benefits:
Mod Ed has also managed to ensure that the Jeweller's Chisel also functions as a regular chisel, too, so you won't need to carry two around with you in Gielinor. Bang!
Lastly, you can expect to get stardust in small quantities from this activity too.

Pre-Orders Re-Opened for Monopoly: RuneScape Edition
Thank you so much for the interest you've shown for Monopoly: RuneScape edition!
We're delighted to see the level of demand and we're re-opening pre-orders for Monopoly: RuneScape edition on the official merch store so everyone has a chance to get one. This second production run has no order limit until August 17th. To ensure you secure yours, place your pre-order by that date! After that date, production quantities will be finalised, and any extra stock will be available until it sells out. Also, please note that this second batch will ship in February 2027.
We know some of you had some questions regarding why the board game sold out during a pre-order run, and this is due to the first pre-order round being a production run that was already in progress to leave the factory. Due to production quantities being finalised, the store could only accept pre-orders up to the amount manufactured at the time. We've also seen questions regarding the board and why some details aren't RuneScape-themed. This is due to the owners of Monopoly, Hasbro, having certain guidelines around what can and can't be changed on the board; you can see this reflected in other Monopoly board partnerships! Nevertheless, the team have customised every inch of the board that we were allowed to with:
Pass GO and head straight to the merch store. If you missed out the first time, here is your second chance! Pre-order now from: runescapemerch.com
Survey Winners
Congratulations to the prize winners from one of our recent research surveys!
For context, this survey was shared through a limited research campaign rather than our usual Old School channels, so many players may not have come across it. Thank you to everyone who took part. Congrats on winning £50 in vouchers!
